It has been the kind an incredible month of equestrian sport. Between the Gallagher Dublin Horse Show at the RDS and the show grounds at Soers in Aachen, Aloga Equestrian has spent the last few weeks watching our team riders competing on the biggest stages in the sport and we're only just catching our breath now to write it all down.
Dublin Horse Show, 4-9 August
The Dublin Horse Show always feels like coming home and the 2026 edition of the Show did not disappoint. From the first day of the Show we were blown away by the support, excitement and interest in the Aloga Equestrian’s stands. Building on last year we expanded and partnered with the incredible team at The Rug Rack joining together on a brand new Simmonscourt stand to compliment our Main Hall presence.
We unveiled some of our brand new products. The Sweet Itch Sheet was the stand out from the week, with so many of you guys placing pre-orders on this style! Now available online we are thrilled that after two years of testing this blanket is now here to protect sensitive horses prone to this debilitating condition. The conversations and feedback we get directly from those that visited the Stand is what inspires us to develop and create the blankets your horses need.
One of the stand out aspects of this year’s show was our Golden Ticket wall. We were blown away by the amount of photographs we were sent of the horses, ponies and riders who has secured their qualifications for this year’s Show we were able to create a full photo wall on our stand! Having riders come to check out their photos, giving away daily spot prizes for our photos of the day and adding your Dublin photos from the incredible week was such a fun experience. Watch this space for something bigger and better in 2027!
In the Laya Arena team riders Bertram Allen, Frano Derwin and Annie Hughes Kennedy were flying the Aloga flag, taking on the biggest classes of the week in front of a home crowd. Dublin has a way of setting the tone for the rest of the year, and it did exactly that sending our team off in stellar form for the bigger equestrian event of the year: FEI World Championships in Aachen.
All Roads led to Aachen
After Dublin wrapped, the FEI World Championships got underway in Aachen (11-23 August), the biggest event of the equestrian sporting calendar.
The team jumping final was the standout moment for Team Aloga. Host nation, Team Germany produced a near-flawless round-robin to take gold on just 4.48 penalties. Aloga Team Rider Marcus Ehning set the tone as first out for his home team on Coolio 42, and by the time Richard Vogel came home clear as anchor, the title was already won; as Vogel put it afterwards, "after three riders today, we already had the title. I probably was the happiest rider." Daniel Deusser wasn't far behind on emotion, admitting he "had goosebumps in the ring." Belgium took silver (11.69) and Great Britain bronze (12.98), with the USA fourth.
Dressage was every bit as good to us. Germany's team anchored by Isabell Werth on Wendy de Fontaine alongside Katharina Hemmer, Raphael Netz and Frederic Wandres won team gold, Germany's first team title since 2018, ahead of Great Britain and Denmark. Werth shared the Team medal’s meaning, "It is not something to be taken for granted, being part of the team here in Aachen again after 20 years." She added an individual freestyle bronze on top, finishing behind a brilliant Charlotte Fry who won Gold for Britian with Glamourdale and Aloga Team Rider Cathrine Laudrup Dufour for Denmark who claimed Individual Silver on the incredible Mount St John Freestyle.
For the duration of the event we showcased our Aloga Equestrian range to a wide variety of show goers who had attended the Championships from all over the world. Getting to share the Aloga Equestrian range with customers from Australia, South Africa, Japan and Colombia was unbelievable. To get such positive feedback from riders all over the world means we are on the right track and the products we have designed are meeting the needs of the horses and owners that inspire us daily.
From our stands in Ballsbridge to our Team Riders standing on the podium in Aachen in the space of two weeks it's hard to think of a better snapshot of why we love this sport, and why we're so proud of Team Aloga. We'll have much more soon on Marcus's team gold specifically, because that story deserves its own post.
