Train better. Ride better. Introducing the Aloga Dressage Pad

Train better. Ride better. Introducing the Aloga Dressage Pad

Today, we are proud to introduce our first Dressage Saddle Pad. This is a piece that reflects not only our commitment to thoughtful design, but also a collaboration with one of the most respected figures in Irish dressage, Olympic rider Judy Reynolds. Working alongside Judy brought uniquely  experienced and professional insight to the requirements of both horses & riders that compete in dressage across a wide range of scales. In dressage, where precision is everything and the smallest details can influence the entire ride, meaning tack and accessories has a critically important role to play. Her experience at the highest level of the sport shaped the direction of the pad from the very beginning. Each stage of development was guided by feel as much as form, by how the horses moved during testing, how the saddle sat, and how everything came together in motion rather than in theory.

‘We’ve been working on developing this saddle pad design for over a year now. There’s been some adjustments to the shape and sizing as well as working on the fabrics and materials,’ Judy explains the process behind the design. What emerged over time was a design focused on balance and stability. The pad needed to sit correctly from the first moment and remain in place throughout each ride. It needed to support without interfering, allowing freedom through the back while maintaining a close and secure contact under the saddle. Achieving that balance required careful adjustment, testing, and refinement, until the fit and performance was exact. ‘We wanted to develop a saddle pad that looks great but once you put it on you can forget about it. That it does it’s job so you can do yours,’ she added.

Launching in Aloga Equestrian’s core black colour way this is the ideal solution for training and schooling at home. Dressage has always carried a sense of understated elegance, and that is mirrored in the clean lines and considered finish of the final pad. The hexagonal quilting creates a modern pattern that coordinates with other elements of the Aloga Equestrian range. The pad is fully breathable with a wicking lining to help with moisture management while in use during heavier work. It is machine washable for ease of use. Judy’s favourite feature of the pad is ‘the triple loops inside the main girth strap. I love this feature as it means you can make the saddle pad sit exactly where you want and it can be adjusted to every horse.’

This launch is more than a new addition to the Aloga collection. It is the result of a shared standard, a process shaped by real riders who have experience at the very top of the sport, and a focus on what genuinely improves the experience for both horse and rider. ‘I think this product is really great quality and does the job it is meant to do,’ Judy shares. It is a piece designed to be used and trusted to deliver time and time again. The Aloga Dressage Saddle Pad, developed in collaboration with Judy Reynolds, is now available. We thank Judy for her dedication to creating this product with us. It was pleasure to work with her and her horses. We hope you will love it as much as we do!
