Aloga is a family built business, founded by International Irish Showjumper Bertram Allen with brother Harry and sisters Grace & April. For us, horses have been at the heart of everything we do for as long as we can remember. From the quiet early mornings in the yard to the hectic competitive schedule, horses are in our DNA.
When we created Aloga Equestrian, it wasn’t just to launch a brand. We wanted to solve the real everyday problems we faced when blanketing our horses of different ages, breeds and activity level in our Irish and German stables. We wanted to create a high quality range of horse blankets that were hard wearing and easy to use regardless of location or what our horses were doing. We wanted to offer other riders and horse owners products that truly work for their horses and make managing horses just a little bit easier.
Horses first, always.
Growing up in Wexford, Ireland, our family has lived and breathed horses from childhood. Following incredible success in pony showjumping, Bertram’s career might have taken him around the globe, but the foundation has always been the same: horsemanship, hard work, and a deep understanding of what our horses need to perform and feel their best.
We have been managing horses at the top of the sport for years, which means we’ve dealt with every kind of weather, every type of travel, and have used just about every type of blanket out there. And being honest we were often frustrated. So many rugs and accessories looked great but just did not deliver, so many were poor fits, weak fabrics, or not built to last. That’s when we knew we could do better.
Aloga was born out of necessity. We started designing blankets and accessories that met our own standards so we were confident to use them on our own horses. That meant testing every design in our own stables in Ireland & Germany, refining the fit, the fastenings, the fabrics, until the blankets worked exactly the way we needed them to. What we have after three years of product development and testing is a range of simple to use, functional horse blankets that actually fit and perform in a variety of situations.
From turnout blankets that can handle Irish winters to fly sheets that are breathable on the hottest summer days, everything in the Aloga range has been shaped by our own real-world experience and honest feedback from riders and grooms who live horses, just like we do.
