WHY WE ARE PROUD TO BE IRISH

WHY WE ARE PROUD TO BE IRISH

This Saint Patrick's Day we take a moment to celebrate what it means to be an Irish equestrian brand. At Aloga Equestrian, Ireland has shaped everything we do. It is our home and has one of the richest equestrian cultures in the world. From legendary horse shows to world class breeding and facilities, the Irish equestrian industry continues to influence riders and horses across the globe. Here is what makes us proud to be Irish today and everyday:

The Weather

From the horses that inspire our designs to the landscape and weather that test our products, all Aloga Equestrian blankets are designed and tested in Ireland. With Aloga Stables located on the Wexford coast, our horses live in some of the most demanding weather conditions. Winds from the Irish sea, driving rain and sudden temperature changes are all part of daily life. While it can be challenging, it gives us the perfect environment to develop high performance horse blankets that truly work in the field. Our products are not just designed for Irish conditions, they are proven in them. When a blanket performs on the Wexford coast, we know it will perform anywhere.

The Tradition of the Dublin Horse Show

Few events capture the spirit of Irish equestrian sport like the Dublin Horse Show held at the historic Royal Dublin Society. This iconic event brings together the best of international showjumping, Irish sport horse breeding and generations of equestrian families. For riders, breeders and horse lovers alike, the Dublin Horse Show represents the very best of Irish horsemanship. The atmosphere is electric, combining world class competition with the pride of Irish breeding and tradition. It is an event that reminds us why Ireland continues to stand at the forefront of the equestrian world. Taking places 5th-9th August 2026, we can not wait to return to the Main Hall with the Aloga Equestrian stand and showcase our full range of products, meet our community and be right back in the heart of the action.

World Class Facilities at Mullingar Equestrian Centre

Ireland’s success in equestrian sport is supported by exceptional facilities, including Mullingar Equestrian Centre. Known for its outstanding arenas and welcoming environment, Mullingar has become one of the most respected competition and training venues in the country. Riders from across Ireland and beyond travel to Mullingar to train, compete and develop their horses. Facilities like this play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of equestrian talent and strengthening Ireland’s reputation for excellence in horse sport. We are proud to sponsor the Aloga Arena that hosts a wide range of competitions throughout the year from riding club to FEI level showjumping and working hunter to dressage. Mullingar CSI 2* International Tour will return for two weeks of best in class showjumping 22nd-24th May and 28th – 1st June.

Home of the Connemara Pony

Ireland has produced many exceptional horse breeds, but few are as iconic as the Connemara Pony. Bred in the rugged landscape of the west of Ireland, this native pony is known for its strength, intelligence and versatility. Connemaras are admired worldwide as family ponies, competition partners and hardy all rounders. At Aloga Equestrian we design our horse blankets with real horses and ponies in mind, including native breeds like the Connemara. Their compact, powerful build and active lifestyle require blankets that are durable, breathable and comfortable. Our designs are built to suit these conditions and the Aloga Pro Turnout is the ideal option for natives. The annual Connemara Pony Show in Clifden is one of the most important celebrations of this beloved breed. Breeders and enthusiasts gather from around the world to showcase generations of carefully bred Connemara ponies. Celebrating 101years the Show returns to the Clifden Show grounds 18th-21st August, 2026.

The Global Reputation of the Irish Thoroughbred

Ireland is also internationally recognised for producing the exceptional Irish Thoroughbred. Known for their athleticism, courage and heart, Irish Thoroughbreds have achieved remarkable success in racing and sport horse disciplines across the globe. Great Thoroughbreds rely on great people. That is why we are proud to support the hardworking grooms who care for horses every day through our sponsorship of the Naas Grooms Canteen at Naas Racecourse. Grooms and stable staff are the backbone of equestrian sport. Their dedication, skill and long hours ensure horses receive the best possible care. Working with Naas Racecourse, the nursey of champions, has allowed us to experience the next generation of Ireland’s thoroughbreds in action and the dedication that goes in behind the scenes.

Ireland’s landscape, weather and equestrian heritage continue to shape everything we do at Aloga Equestrian. Designing and testing our horse blankets on the Wexford coast allows us to create products that combine performance, durability and comfort.

This Saint Patrick's Day we are proud to celebrate our Irish roots, the horses that inspire us and the equestrian community that surrounds us.

From all of us at Aloga Equestrian, we wish you a very happy St Patrick’s Day.
