The 50g thermobonded fibre fill is all about balance. It works with your horse’s natural ability to regulate their body temperature. Horses generate a significant amount of heat on their own, even in cooler conditions, so what they need is not heavy insulation but a layer that helps manage that heat effectively.
The lightweight fill creates a light insulating layer that traps a small amount of warm air close to the body, helping to take the chill off in cooler or damp conditions. At the same time, the fibre structure allows heat to rise and escape, while moisture vapour is released. This prevents heat from building up under the rug and supports a more consistent and comfortable microclimate throughout the day.
This balance becomes especially important in mild or changeable weather. A heavier rug can quickly lead to overheating, particularly if the sun comes out or if your horse naturally runs warm. The 50g fill avoids this by offering just enough insulation for cooler moments, while remaining breathable enough to adapt as conditions shift.
COOL COLOUR
As part of the Aloga Pro collection, the turnout features a durable 1200D polyester outer that is both waterproof and breathable, giving you reliable protection in the field without compromising on comfort.
The colour of this turnout has been carefully considered. The light grey outer is not only clean and modern in appearance, it also serves a practical purpose. Lighter shades reflect sunlight rather than absorbing it, helping to reduce heat build up in brighter conditions. This makes it especially suited to mild weather and transitional seasons, where your horse may be standing in sunshine but still needs a touch of insulation.
