Winter settles at Aloga Stables

Winter settles at Aloga Stables

At Aloga Stables in Hünxe, Germany, the landscape has shifted almost overnight. Snow is blanketing the paddocks, the air is crisp and chilled. Despite the drop in temperature, turnout remains a non-negotiable for our horses. Wrapped in their Pro Turnout 350g with hoods, Dream and Pinky insulated from the cold are free to move, explore, and enjoy the seasonal changes to their paddocks.

Back at the stables, there’s a quiet sense of momentum building. As winter settles in at home, the international show calendar begins to ramp up. Bertram’s horses are preparing for their journey to Wellington, where the Winter Equestrian Festival awaits, while Harry’s string is focused on the upcoming European circuit, with MET Oliva and Vilamoura firmly in sight. Different destinations and different climates, the same meticulous preparations are going on behind the scenes.

January acts as an in-between moment of part reflection, part anticipation and is where winter really comes into its own. It’s a time for layering up, refining systems, and setting intentions for the season ahead. For riders and grooms alike, these colder weeks are about laying the foundations for the coming months and getting prepared for another competitive year.

As 2026 begins to take shape, it feels like the perfect moment to plan what the year ahead will hold. New goals, familiar ambitions, or perhaps a subtle reset in approach. Whatever you’re working towards, we’d love to be part of the journey. Tag @aloga_equestrian and let us cheer you on from stable yard to show ring.

Here’s to a winter well spent and a season ahead that’s happy, healthy, and full of horses.
